Disc 1 again. Although saying that it is one of my favorites is rather meaningless since the number of favorites are too many to count, it is definitely up there. Excellent journey through most variations of electronica (not to mention the remix of Skunk Anansie - Twisted (Everyday Hurts) is amazing) :thmbsp:

I'm curious of your impressions :scratch2:

I really quite like it even if it's definitely not the best of the Orb. I like the second track better than the first as it seems to have more of the "core" of the Orb sound. I like it better than both Auntie Aubrey's Excursions volumes but I think it could have used a touch more polish to fulfill an Orb fan's expectations (well at least mine :))

I may have been expecting something more like the Pink Floyd Trance Remixes underground album that was put on the net a few years ago. So in that way, I was a bit disappointed....only because some of those tracks were truly spectacular!

I foresee another collaboration between these guys, and if that were to happen, I'd buy that with no hesitation. Actually, I'd just love to have another Orb album as good as "The Pulsating Sounds of the Orb" of which there aren't many copies in the wild, so not many people know just how good that album is! That was actually my first Orb album bought in '92 or '93...?

Anyhow, I'd definitely recommend this album to fans of the Orb. Pink Floyd fans might enjoy this too, but it's definitely an Orb album.

Gotta have those once in a while :thmbsp:

Prodigy - Music for the Jilted Generation

One of the greatest albums of all time!!! I've got to whine a bit and say that it saddens me to no end that I cannot play Claustrophobic Sting on my pc, nor rip it so I can listen to it on my walkman/ipod. My disc is seemingly flawless too....:( I suppose I might get lucky and find a cheap second disc, or find a .flac or .wav file online.

Anyhow, love this disc to death! Nice choice, anytime!!

I'm currently listneing to Points in Time 009, another good "Good Looking Records" compilation.

Glad to see some others enjoying all this stuff :thmbsp:

Interesting, never seen that one. :scratch2: I bought their En-Tact cd in '92 and listened to it a lot. I really wish I'd done more digging into the genre or known someone who could have pointed me in the right direction at the time. It was very hit-or-miss living in the sticks in Michigan in the pre-internet era. Luckily, I stumbled onto Meat Beat Manifesto around '95. Came across Pop Will Eat Itself about the same time.

*sigh* So much time wasted NOT listening to electro/techno/ambient/chill/d-n-b/idm/trance...

In a way you can consider yourself lucky. A lot of these titles can be found used for decent prices. When I bought them back in "the day" they weren't so cheap. :tears:

I love these threads for all the interesting artists and music that get brought up that I would never have come across otherwise. Notes are being taken and minds expanded :thmbsp:
