A neighbor gave me an electro voice 1182 a few years back. Right channel works, however left channel is very faint. I’ve identified the problem as a damaged, leaking 50mfd cap in the power amplifier board. This brings me down to the question, is mfd the same as uF? If not, please let me know the uF equivalent to order. First three pictures are of the power amplifier section.
Now to my main confusion. I’ve found a physically damaged 5mfd cap in the tone board. However the service manual states this is a “.22uF” capacitor. I have no knowledge of the difference between MFD and uF, and google searches are only giving me conflicting results. I would use a .22uF cap here, right? Last three photos are of the tone board, which will be posted in a reply.
