I first listened to electrostatic speaker. Quad ESL-2905. I think I was .. good..
very good speaker.

Generally what do you guys do with old gears when you upgrade?

Many of us are packrats and keep what we have and just add new gear. :yes:
The other option is to sell what you're not going to use. Try the classifieds here, or eBay, or even craigslist if you have it locally.
