Dodge Aries 1982, bought with 72,000, junked at 166,000 after three years in Northern Ontario

Mercedes 300D 1987, bought with 125,000, wrecked by a guy running a red light at 275,000

Mercedes 300D 1987, bought with 175,000 on it, still running at 420,000 and a broken odometer (again), actual milage north of 460,000. Getting tired.

VW Golf TDI, 2004, bought with 120,000 currently at 221,000 and going strong.

Don't remember the mileage on the Volvo 740 TD, but I don't think I got 100,000 on it myself due to fuel pump issues.

When I was still a farmer up until the early 1980s, we traded for new pickups every 45,000 miles. Not because they were worn out, but because they still offered the most trade in value.

Things have changed dramatically since then. My last Chevy pickup had over 360,000 miles on it without any significant trouble. The next owner ran it another 50k.

Our current SUV has 191,000 on it. I just pastured another with 260,000 because the transmission finally gave up. Both of them GM trucks.

I've had a 1982 Toyota Celica ST [82,000 miles before a college prof ran into me and totaled it], a 1991 Acura LS Coupe [sold it with 120 K miles] and now a 2007 Honda Pilot, bought with 67 K miles and now has 186 K miles...GO JAPANESE..! I love the reliability, the economy and the practicality of their vehicles. Hey, car-building robots need love too...

I don't think hitting a 100K on a car is much of an achievement anymore. As long as you don't overheat an engine or run it out of oil, their tolerances and quality of gaskets and rings are to the point where engines last a fair amount of time. Heck even in the 90s I had cars I would run over 200K.

When we lived in Eastern Washington there was a lot of highway mile driving we do. Speed limits were 70 mph and towns were at least 30 miles apart. Wife and I had a 35 mile commute to work each way.

1990 F150 went to 260K when the transmission came apart. Too many things to fix on it to invest that kind of money

1996 Dodge Caravan went to 230K before we sold it

1993 Saab 9000CSE had 188K on it when sold for a new work car

1986 Chevy Astro drove it for 180K no idea miles on it before we bought it but we rebuilt motor than put the 180K on it

1994 Mustang had 163K on it when we moved and I sold it cause I had no place to store it

Yes, I have topped 100,000 on cars I bought new, but I try to trade them before that number as it adds a lot to the value. This virus thing has really cut down on my driving. I traded in my Highlander with 94,000 miles on it for an Outback on March 3rd. Just hit 800 miles on it the other day. Just nowhere to go. Should have it broken in by the end of the month.

Pretty well every car I've ever owned.

Current family cars are on their way there. Jetta TDI we sold to our nephew had 360k kms on it when he got it and is still going strong. My Jeep has 320k kms on it.

My Spitfire only shows 78k miles, but that could be 78, 178, 278...though I doubt its 278.

Had a 47 Buick Torpedo Back in 65 with 19,000 Miles, sold it for parts to an Antique Collector in 95 with 398,000 Miles:)

Both a 1980 Honda Accord bought new and a 1980 MBZ 240 SD both went over 350K.
Every car we bought from 1980 all went well over 100K., most over 200K. We do put a lot of miles on our cars.

Yes.

Ran my first car to 106k (purchased with 29k in 1972) . . . a '70 Dart Swinger 318 cid.

Currently I am driving a Hyundai Sonata V6 purchased new in 2006 that has 135k on it and runs great. DIY oil changes every 3k.

Had a gazillion cars in the last 48 years.

Yes to A and B. Wife and I bought a '92 Nissan Maxima SE new. At 125,000, I sold it to a good friend at work. His son drove it to 200k+. Got in a wreck and saved his life.

I also had my Dad's 1965 Buick LeSabre in college. I bought it back from my uncle with 90k on it. At 105,000, had to drive from Columbia to Charleston before leave expired. Went 100 MPH the whole way, no problem. That is a car I parted with too soon.
