Faceplate lettering

I have an old Fisher 2020 Futura where some of the black letters on the faceplate have been faded.
Is there a way of renew these?
Or will I have to look for a new faceplate?

I'm almost sure the lettering is silk screened paint.

You can make custom decals with cheap transfer paper (~$1 per sheet) and a laser printer. They look okay on smooth metal faceplates, but sometimes the edge of the decal catches the light.
