Thanks man! If I were to use phono would I need to get a preamp? Only asking cuz I see the inputs for preamps in the back

No need for a separate phono preamp with this receiver. If using a newer tt make sure to switch off its internal pre(if it has one) when connecting to phono input on the Sony. You could also engage the tt pre and hook to the auxiliary to see which sound you like best. Nice price on the STR-7055! Enjoy and let us know how you like it.

The sound is simply amazing I had it connected to my DAC player and I absolutely love it. Records sounded low on the Phono side but I also had the distorting issue because of the speakers which I’m replacing today !

What turntable and cartridge are you using? In my experience it isn't unusual to have tt output lower than either tuner or Aux. The distortion could be caused by having a tt's internal preamp engaged and playing it through the receivers phono inputs.

This distortion happens regardless of the channel I’m in from FM to AUX or Phono. Even tried to new speakers and had those same results.

I believe the same thing, brought it to a local engineer to have it back at 100%
