Fisher 500c....How much to pay?

I have a line on a nice, clean Fisher 500c. It does have a wood case and appears to be in nice condition. It is missing the brass on the knobs. Anybody have an idea on a fair price to offer?

I paid $400 no case, $90 for a case- that's what they go for.

I think 4seat paid $400 with case.

They are going for quite a premium on that auction site upwards of 400-600 for good working condition ones. If you can get it for at or under 300 it's a great price. The brass brights you can get new reproductions.

Also plan on minimally updating the power supply, removing that selenium or early silicon rectifier. Check the phono and preamp tubes as well to see if they are tele's

Keep that one under your hat! Those Fisher branded little tubes really suck!!

Is it in original condition or has it been updated with new caps/rectifier/etc? Tubes in good shape or do they need to be replaced? Does the seller have an initial asking price? If it is plug-and-play, then I think you would be doing good at $400 to $600.

if no restoration has been done, you should expect to spend additional $200-$300 including output tubes - that's pretty much a standard unless you can do it yourself. i would not even think about running it as is without restoration. just something to consider before you decide.

Pull the fishers out and look at the center on the bottom. If there's a little diamond, Fisher branded Tele's!

500 is not a bad price with wood case, if in working condition and good cosmetically.
