It's interesting, but certainly overpriced. The knobs were also replaced, which may not be immediately obvious.

Unfortunately, I don't think they aesthetically improved on the original in this instance.

Seller says it's working, but a unit that old, unless repairs have been done, it won't be working to long. If repairs were done, I would say so.

I'm also wary of the ventilation scheme. Closing off all but a tiny bit of the top and leaving the back open may not be adequate (you know, that whole thing about heat rising and not going politely to the back). Not to mention, if that case is plexi it's not going to stand up to any heat from the interior tubes or transformer. The original wood case had about four times the vent room. Heat build up and popping electrical components seems imminent.
Top it off with the fact that I don't like the aesthetic of the mods since there are three tones of metal and it doesn't pay any homage to the original design, and I'm going to go ahead and call this thing a dud.
Note also that the unit is tested and functioning, but not restored in any way. The asking price is lunacy.

I would not trust it at all. I just had the experience of ruining a piece of furniture that was at least a foot away, the threads are actually bare because of the heat. Random luck I'm sure had an exact height match and i was running it constantly for a couple weeks.
