For posterity's sake

Seller is delusional asking $1000 for this plus it seems he/she doesn't know what they are talking about.

"The time has come for me to part with my unfinished 1958 Fisher President. This is a genuine 3000W. It even still has its identification tag. This is the same console that is cover unit of this page.

This unit is incomplete missing the following;

Trim around tuners

Amps
Doors

Speakers are non-original as well as the crossovers.

Legs are not original.

I have a clock for the console as well.

This is very rare opportunity to own a very very rare console.

Original Ampex and Garrard RC88 comes with console.

Located in Milwaukee Wisconsin 53210

$1000"

well, interesting opinion....

for the record, I'm the seller. sorry you find my ad "delusional", but if you feel it's overpriced, that's your opinion and your entitled.

look at the finished one on Ebay selling for $8K (who also is member here)

You state in your ad,

"this unit is incomplete missing the following"

Amps

So there are no amps?

It's a Fisher right? what "Original Ampex" are you referring to?

What "clock" for the console? did they originally come with one?

I checked ebay and I do not see any Fisher console selling for or sold for $8K

ok, not $8k, $7995.

and the original console came with two 80z amps (missing in this case) worth a couple of grand. and an ampex tape player, and garrard turntable. hence original ampex. and, if you look carefully at the first and second posts of this thread, you'll see it indeed came with a clock.

all audio, no attitude? indeed.

so he's selling the case, two tuners, a preamp, the tape player, the turntable, and the clock...one of fisher's best, and rarest consoles. doesn't seem too delusional that i can see.

and if you really want to know, it's @vendo81's console on ebay. if i had $8K, and the space, and a wife who was wiling to have that in the house, i would purchase it from him without hesitation.

Let it be known that I do apologize for my comments.

No need to apologize. I just find it incredibly hard to try and place a value on something like this. My intention is not get people in an uproar over pricing. I could really care less. I have a 1958 Fisher President that is completely restored from top to bottom. My hope was to pass this project along to someone else looking to get into a "work in progress" type console.

I get how hard it is to deal with an item (and a project) like this. I have half a storage unit filled with items I will probably never restore and hope to move on to someone who can finish the projects appropriately. Location is so critical for one of these beasts. If not a local pickup it might cost as much to pack and ship as to purchase. At least this '58 President console looks much better than my "missing pieces" '64 President in Fruitwood Provincial style.
