Found a Bryston 4B SST at a salvage store

Got a deal at a Hudson's Salvage. The rear speaker connectors were broken off and missing the feet. Rigged some speaker connectors and put feet on her and she works like charm. Anybody else running one of these?

Yikes! Do they have any more?
How often does anyone find that!

Dayum!!!!!
Outstanding!
Sounds like you got her up, and running, and the most important thing, is that it works properly.
Who knows, maybe by the serial #, there may even be mucho warrantee left!? The 4B-SST is not that old of a Unit, perhaps 7-8, or so years at most, and with a 20 year warrantee, which I believe is transferable, you may have 10 years, or more left?

I'm sure one could buy the proper exact Speaker Binding Posts, direct from Bryston, bringing the Unit back to total stock, or even going a bit further if wished, with high quality connections, such as Cardas? Same with the Feet, and of course, there's a myriad of options as for Feet-Footers.

Best of luck, hope you enjoy that baby! Mark

Dude! An SST just hanging around for salvage? Gotta love that. :thmbsp: As someone else said, you probably still have a whack of warranty left on that baby -- enjoy. :)

With a 25 year warranty im sure they would at least be "cool" enough to fix it up at a good price!

Why would they fix it up at a good price when the damage was clearly not any fault of theirs?

Maybe Bryston does that sort of thing, dunno. But I'd be really surprised if so.

Any company with a 25 year warranty must be understanding.

But I know its not covered by warranty but im sure bryston would repair it for a reasonable price at least.

Well, ya know, stranger things have probably happened.

However, if it were mine, and I wanted Bryston to fix it, I'd expect the costs to be their normal parts and labor fees.

If they gave me a deal, hey, BONUS, I'll take it. But, I certainly wouldn't feel entitled to a deal under these circumstances.
