Going Digital!

Well I've just finished listening to conversions of FLAC files and most say it was very very very impressive - it's as if it made the music much airier - delicate in nature as well as more organic in a manner to which I find very similar to the finer points of owning or listening to vinyl.

But much reading has lead me to articles starting one shouldn't convert from one Lossless format to another, as it then alters the original copy and therefore can result in worst sonics, am I missing something in that I once relied upon Alac ( Apple's own version of said lossless ) compared to having to do each file over in FLAC, as WAV isn't an option until I've learned to attach 2 TB of HDD onto my Mac Mini as a means of having extra storage for my growing music collection.

Once again Brotha Byron, this has proven to be a very very very musical venture and one that even thou I mentioned it to you earlier on, I was last to onboard and once again would say rather late then never, as this has allowed me to enjoy my system even more so then before and give me that added sense of security in knowing system wise once again there isn't a need to change out one single component just for the sake of difference, as I've voiced each component to work extremely well with one another down to the cabling bringing about a sense of transparency - resolution and neutrality, I believe I'm set for life, and finding contentment in ones journey with ones system is to me the final journey in itself - my destination has been reached, and how.

Thanks to all of you whom have once again shared with me on how to obtain what I how know to be my last piece of the puzzle - I'm all tears over here.

and...sounds like a happy camper!!! Or shall I say, happy audio hobbyist!

No, Mi Brotha it goes much much much deeper then that, I'm a content Music Lover whom once again merely wanted a better means of hearing my collection of music as opposed to collecting audio components and listening to boxes for the rest of my life.

I'm done..........., bring on more cabling and isolation devices as well as downloads and tubes, my quest has reached its end.

Later little Brotha.

Ok you music lover! (and we know..you're really an undercover audio hobbyist!) You still like a little audioporn? Check out the iFI gear on top shelf. Seem iFI hanging out with the big boys!

I am trying a different approach to the IFI -stack
MAC mini - to IFI power - IFI ILINK - BNC to IFI Micro DSD SPDIF/BNC in
For PCM This is as good as it gets. I am waiting for a 5v USB power supply for the Micro DSD . As I found out when in turbo power mode it runs off battery only
The IDSD Micro has a excellent PCM chip set.

Hanging out with $80K TAD speakers and that other gear looks spendy too. Not too bad of company for iFI to be hanging out with.

You know...I've heard that the PCM was not good with the Micro, but ran a few, and it was excellent!

Shhhhhhhhhhh!, I've told the wifey I've finished rehab - and am only looking at adding music and tubes from now on. And Yes.........., iFi is certainly making the rounds it'd seem, and deservingly so I might add.

Now whom in their right state of mind would make such a claim, I've been enjoying strictly with PCM files since I got it, so it has only been the last week or so that I'm seeing just how great it plays DSD 128, and can say it's not a joke in the least.

:smoke:_oh

Would be nice to hear - I am always open to hearing things. Just because something doesn't grab me the first time, doesn't mean I won't like it the 2nd time.

What will happen to TAD now that Pioneer is out of the Home Audio/HT market?

I think the Pioneer division was sold...not TAD

Theil also lost their speaker designer, but they are great as ever!

That's like many believe that Sonus Faber or Audio Physic line of speakers aren't quite the same as the older designs when the actual owners were onboard, and in some cases this statement is correct depending on how one listens?.

I've heard the mass market Pioneer and Dayton speakers in peoples homes over the years and was quite surprised - I think more often then not much like with the passing of Ken Shindo - someone in the family or on staff worked closely with these designers enough to know how to carry on the business without them.

But as always, it's all subjective........., but I'm starting to wonder why it seems you two are always debating on one another's opinions?, when in fact the audio hobbyist and/or porn joke was directed towards me.

Brothers as large as our planet is, you both seem to seek each other out on various threads here I've noticed, so I felt the need to ask what's really going on between you two?.

Naw...it ain't that deep with me and Dave....he's cool. We may debate...laugh...cry or whatever, but we boys in audio together. Boys will be boys.:D

Not debating at all - even if we do debate - it is good for the soul and a good way to understand other's opinions. It is the only honest way to learn to respect each other. I can respect and disagree with another person's opinion at the same time w/o getting upset or angry. After all, we are all adults here, aren't we?

Good points to be considered, and I get them. It's all good then eh!.

Alrighty then, as I've learned to become a better soul for knowing both of you so much so, I just don't have it in me to argue or dispute things with others as much as I once enjoyed - whom said you can't teach an olde dog new tricks.........., I'm barking and rolling around the floor more each day and loving it.

Later guys.
