Picked up a pair of ADS L710 for $8.51 at goodwill today. Great shape only problem is one tweeter is out. Don't know anything about these speakers. Can anyone help with repairing or replacing it?? Thanks

Tested the as soon as I got them home sound great except for the small tweeter being out. Took it apart and the connection looks good. Even the covers are in good shape

Great score! Unfortunately there is no fix for that tweeter nor are any available so the speakers are basically trashed. Since I collect trashed speakers, you can go ahead and send them on to me. Of course I will pick up the shipping charges. And of course I am totally full of s**t.

All the best to you in figuring out the tweeter issue. If it were a KLH I'd start with changing out crossover capacitors, but I can't speak to the ADS's. I swapped out some gear earlier this week with a guy that's got a bunch of speakers and he said his 710's are his favorites. Then he heard my KLH Model 5's and thought they were in the same league as the 710's. Good luck on the tweeter issue!

Great find!!!

Pull the "dead" tweeter, remove the leads and put a DMM on it and see if it reads a value or just "open". If you get open--it is dead, so hit up ebay. If you get a value, start checking downstream.

Thanks for all the info. Will pull the tweeter and test it as suggested and search eBay for a replacement. Best thing about this goodwill find is they were supposed to be $7.99 each and only got charged for one!

Those look really well cared for. A little tweeter work and some Howards - should be good to go.

Congrats.

Howard's Feed N Wax--furniture treatment for the wood veneer. I am partial to Watco Danish Oils, but a lot of people swear by the Howard's

Where do you live?

Are they dark or light rings?

Restore-a-finish works wonders on the whiteish water marks.

L710s benefit greatly by the loudness button at low volumes. At least I thought so! Really brings out the bass.
