Harman Kardon twin powerd

The twin power models are the only non-citation HKs I'd ever go out of my way for. However I'll be a nice guy and include the twin power supply integrateds from the 80s as well. I find them much better looking than most of the silver stuff everyone fawns over and better sounding too. If I only had something like a 730 as my one and only amp I'd still be happy for a long time.

I had both the 730 and 430. Both great but I give the edge to the 730. I thought it was the best H/K receiver. At least that I've heard. There was a Citation receiver which is considered another step up. If I ever find one, I'm buying it no questions asked. As mentioned, these have a remarkably warm and wide soundstage. Very non fatiguing and similar to some tube gear in voice.

I picked up a HK-505 a few months back. Needs a deoxit bath as most of the switches and pots are sketchy and one channel cuts in and out. What I have heard when I do get sound to 2 speakers is wonderful. Gotta find time to play with it. Got it at a flea market and almost left it behind.

Yes, holyman, the sound of the 505 is really quite nice but those pushbuttons will wish that you had invested some money in Deoxit stock shares!
