Has anyone found a pair of speakers and said "I'm done"?

I thought the Frazier 11's were here to stay, then JBL 4430's, 4435's, 250 ti's, and on and on. I have settled on Snell Type A-II's for solid state and Klipsch Cornwall IV's for my tube gear. I am totally pleased where I'm at!

Picked up a pair of Heresys recently. Recapped and fed by a push pull tube amp, this is a stopping point for one of my setups. Guess I am a Klipsch fan. What will become my main system will be fed by a Fisher 500 (Thanks to an amazing AKer) and terminating in a pair of Altec 409s. We'll have to see if the Altecs rise to that challenge.

I have said "I'm done" a few times. This time its on a set of Polk SRS 1.2TLs. These will definitely hold me over for a good awhile but to be honest, I will never be truly "done".

Most people reach a certain point and say I'm done. Every time I purchased or built a new system I've said it. It's even worse if you're a DIY speaker guy like me. My last store bought speaker system was a pair of Shahinian Obelisks. Great speakers that I should never have sold.

I feel your pain, I too sold my pair of Shahinian Obelisks, never should have and to this day makes me a bit sick that I did. My Duevel Venus though are quite good and certainly eases the pain a bit!

I've said it enough times that I'm just going to stop saying it :rflmao:

I've been listening to my new DQ-10's plus DQ1W sub for a few weeks now (crossovers rebuilt with film caps and wire wound resistors), and they're the best I've ever heard. I still can't find fault with them and that's a first. That being said are they endgame? Not likely but who knows.

Yes, when I got my Altec 604s. I was done buying drivers. But then, I built new crossovers. And someday, they will get new cabinets. But the drivers will stay.

KLH Fives. Any other speaker I might think of would be heavier.
Considered a set of the new ones over the past month. Found a great deal on a new set of Kendall’s so I am trying those out now :)

My JBL Summits are currently my endgame. I suppose that someday I may look for something that is better, but I’m done for now…

If we did, we probably wouldn't be viewing this thread? I personally have been through about 2-3 hundred models and still retain about 40 pair that many would consider very good. I will never be done probably, but looking and listening is an enjoyable adventure. If any of you have reached a point to stop looking, congratulations to you!
