Has Plan 9 From Outer Space lost it's place as the worst movie ever made?

When I first started reading this thread, I thought about "Battle Beyond the Stars." I've got that one somewhere on VHS that I copied off The Movie Channel way back.
I think that was the last time I saw either John-Boy OR John Saxon.

This turkey is also to be seen on Netflix, I have already watched this turd several years ago with the headless women's torso with hooters star ship, once is enough. This movie gives you the impression it was made because people had child support payments to make and they got their money up front to make them with.

Just got done watching "Robot Monster" on Netflix, I just loved the bubble machine. "Johnny" summed up the whole movie very well right at the end. "It must have been a nightmare".

Agreed. And the other one that came out right around the same time with the exact same premise.

I think you speak of this

Cloverfield ripoff. most of the cast spends most of the movie hiding underground from tentacles. The titular entity does have a cool mournful roar, and there is a funny bit involving chocolate, but overall it's very, very awful. Even worse than the Centropolis giant-mutant-lizard-that's-not-Godzilla movie.

re: OP's question (and thread title), I thought P9FOS had been unseated as worst-ever feature film several years ago by (in my opinion the magnificent) .....

Tales From The Quadead Zone (Chester Novell Turner, 1987)

Ya know that all these horribly bad awesome moves, and more, can be seen on Netflix drive-in every day. Just sayin'.

NoAfil.

Any "movie" produced for the SyFy Channel has to be considered a contender. True, they are actually glorified (and even THAT's doubtful) Tee Vee Shows, complete with plot breaks every 12 minutes for commercials. And there might be some clinkers out there that are actually WORSE, but for day-in, day-out badness, the SyFy Channel's original productions have an enviable (and even THAT's doubtful) track record for consistency.

Certainly can't put it in the same class as a gem like Bubba Ho-Tep ...

I'm afraid that I have to agree with ya there.

Based on the description in the OP I'm thinking this thread ought to be moved over to /d/ on 4Chan.

Any "bad movie" thread would be incomplete without honorable mention of the Toxic Avenger series ...

Oh ... and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Not necessarily bad standing on it's own, but compared to the original BBC series AND it's uber budget, it did suffer severe suckage ...

PS ... thanx for the reminder ... talking about BBC series, I'd plumb forgot I stashed Red Dwarf in my Amazon wishlist some time back ... that is so very bad, it's good!

Much agreed. The SyFy channel is but 1 of about another 1,000 reasons I quit the cable Tee Vee.
Sharknado indeed!!

The worst recent movie I have watched is Pacific Rim. I didn't know there could be such bad acting these days. :thumbsdn:

Hey I'm not cool enough to post a link; but somewhere around here I have a thread entitled "Worst. Movie. Ever."

It's kinda old though.

:)

Oooh just wait for Machete Kills.... In Space!!!!!

Matt

I was watching "Zombie Ass:" again and it finally dawned on me a cultural difference between Japan, and the US, fart gas in Japan is yellow and in the States it is green. This has to be a good topic of dissertation for a PhD feces's

Ya, it would probably just turn out to be a piece of crap when you were finished dissertating it anyway.

sorry
