Help identify this 12" speaker!!!!!

HEY every one, I have a 12" speaker that I refoamed but has no markings. Can anyone id this speaker, I was told it was an altec, but can't find anything like it.

Was the previous foam red? If so, Cerwin Vega.

It doesn't resemble any Cerwin Vega i've seen, the outer rim detail is too wide, the basket shape and design is totally wrong, most vintage CV magnet assemblies are bolted.

I was actually thinking it slightly-resembled the old Western Electric driver-frame, but since that has a ceramic magnet, I ruled that out. Maybe the OP is right about it being Altec-related in some way.

Well, it's a woofer, and Altec made woofers.

I think you'll be hard pressed to draw an Altec connection. That modern of a vintage driver would have bolted magnet, cone numbers, EIA/date stamp, P/N stamp, QC stamp, and likely an inventory number stamp. Sometimes the inventory and part numbers on OEM's were on a paper sticker, but the EIA and QC were still ink stamped on the frame itself.

Yep! Crispycircuit nailed it: they're from Model 14 Altecs.

Hhhhmmm, there are a few slight differences, on second inspection of the pics. An extra "ridge" on part of the basket frame. Variations in production, or a different driver? Sure look similar, though!

The pictured Altec woofers in the LH thread are more like the Altec 15 woofers above than the OP's. The OP's woofer had slightly tapering wider ribs (altecs are straight rectangles) and are partially vertically oriented at the frame.

For clarification i edited my post of the MODEL FIFTEEN woofers removing the image and replacing it with the link, it was confusing too many people.

FWIW, there are no images of a model 14 woofer anywhere in this thread.

Even the woofer in the LHF thread appears incorrectly identified, it "looks like" a model 15 woofer. The model 14 woofer uses a magnet that's 1/3 larger than the 15's.

Model 14 woofer will be stamped with part number 34633, sometimes it's on the inside of a spoke toward the cone and very difficult to see. Model 15 woofers are stamped with part number 33785. Either numer may or may not be preceded by a 0.

Absolutly Altec , out of Model 14. I'm refoaming some now.....
