Help Me AK!!! What Kind of Speakers Are These?

Thanks AK, I think we finally figured out what they Are

Thanks Guys, I feel comfortable in calling these Fostex/Foster. I was listening to these the other day and I was reminded of how nice they truly sound. No lows however. But boy they offer crystal clear music. I'm going to check with the vendor to see if he still has the other pair. I wish I would have grabbed them when I saw them. Shucks!

Now we have to figure out what they horns are.

Well now we know who made the drivers - but - who put them all together to form this speaker system. It's my understanding that many manufacturers use Foster/fostex drivers. So the question remains - who made them?? They certainly are not DIY.

weeeeiiirrrrrrdddd!!

You can test the polarity of each side by holding one wire to the rca sleeve and another to what would then be the positive lug.

Those cloth surrounds probably need glue help and a re-seal with a thin layer of some non hardening silicone. That could improve what bass there is.

Another here for Foster. If you can find a way inside, you could then confirm the EIA manufacturer code.

the grilleless example helps a lot.

Going to hazard a guess here. Perhaps they were Sensurround speakers, forerunner to Dolby Surround or THX sound. Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure(I believe), and several other movies in the early 70s were in Sensurround. Maybe these are the dipole effect/ambiance drivers? I don't really know how Sensurround systems were set up, so it's just a guess....

More than likely, the entire speakers were made by Foster/Fostex. They made most of Radio Shacks speakers and guess what...
they used the same type of RCA/screw terminal plates!

They made Minimus 7's too, and i haven't been able to get that fact out of my head since i saw those die-cast cabinets way back when the OP first posted about these.
