Help! Squirrel trapped in my speakers!

Guys, these events have been unfolding over the course of the last 2 hours. We had to leave our home and go stay at my record store due to the power outage and super low temps at home. The power had been out for the better part of 5 day with one day of power in between. Well it fi ally came back on today so we gathered all of our supplies and moved back to the house around 6 or so. After the house started to thaw i started putting away all of.our stuff when the door to my dumbwaiter swung open and a squirrel jumped out!

So i closed off my music room/dining room to gather some armor and weapons (a robe, afacemask, a broom, and a trashcan haha). When i came back i couldnt find hime. Assumed he escaped back from where he came. About an hour went by when i noticed my westie pointing at the buffet table im the dining room. I checked and sure enoughthe squirrel was stuck between the table and the wall. When i moved the table imstead of running for the door he went deeper into the music room. At the point rhe dogs goin.nuts and i see the squirrel jump behind my speaker ( Cerwin vega 217r's). I look and hes gone. Nowhere for him to go except the bass vent in the speaker. I cranked the shitty local popradio station to try to flush him out but no luck. After i finish eating dinner im going to pull the woofer out and see what happens. Wish me luck! Ill post pics or a video if my son takes a decent one during the upcoming shenanigans.

I refrain from juicing them anymore. They might chew on the wires or try and come out thru the woofer.

Plug the hole and take them outside uncork then and wait....
 
Put the speaker outside and squirrel will likely vacate by morning. Or take the speaker outside, then remove the woofer, and you'll probably hasten his exit. (and he'll already be outside) :)
 
Same, these were the first speakers i ever restored and one of my favorites for sure. The dog busted the entire cone and voice coil assembly. All the wires in the woofer are destroyed too. Might be time to get a new dog haha
 
Also, for anyone wondering, the squirrel ended up getting free. Its snowing here so i couldnt leave the speaker outside do i took the terminal box out in the back and poked around with a broom until i spooked the squirrwl and he jumped out the other side. He is, as far as i can tell, unscathed.

Another option, you could set an alert on ebay for when any woofers are posted for sale.
Being a subscriber you could do both.
Being CV's seems like one or the other would come through for you.
 
Okay, I can't keep myself from commenting. So the squirrel was in the speaker and your pooch ate the woofer? Do you have any idea how much that storyline is worth in a Vacation film? "Sometimes, Clark, it's better to just let him finish..."

What happened to the squirrel? Did the pooch finish the job?

Maybe this is the wrong time to share this story, but I was once part of a nonprofit that was "awarded" an old building owned by the City of Denver. During the first spring, the attic was overrun by squirrels. I put my old boom box in the attic and looped Godflesh for 3 days. When I came back, several squirrels ran out the front door. Not a squirrel left in the attic. They never came back. Music is a wonderful thing.
