Help! Squirrel trapped in my speakers!

WaryHighCrossbill-size_restricted.gif

...doubting Thomas here! LOL ;)

:needpics:

Hahaman i wish the story was fake. I have a picture of the after math but everytime i try to load it it says the file is too big. Let me try to resize it.

As far as the squirrel and his health, he was still in the speaker when i found it. I drugthe speaker outside and removed the crossover box in the back. I then took a broom and started poking insode the speaker until the squirrel jumped out the hole wherethe speaker cone once was

So my plan was to take the speaker outside and remove the woofer.if he didnt exit immediately i was going to watch from the window until he did. I guess Doc had other plans. Heres a pic of the culprit haha

Haha, so my house was built in the very early 30's. The porch is actually on the roof and the dumbwaiter runs from the basement level where the kitchen, music room, diningroom, laundry room, and garage are, allthe way up to the roof. Ill s ag a picture when my concert im watching goes off.
On a side note, any Billy strings fans in the house?

Would've been kinda interesting to see that squirrel and Doc go head - to - head.

Haha honestly thats the only reason i let him stay. He loves chasing squirrels around the park so i figured if he wouldnt leave on his own Doc would chase him out. I didnt think in a million years that my speakers would end up being a casualty In all this.

Man i really thought the pop radio station wouldve done it! I hadthosethings blasting and thought i killed him with the bass haha.

I'm thinking what is the squirrel doing, able to access the dumbwaiter? They live in families. You may have seperated them. The rest may follow his trail.
I put my old boom box in the attic and looped Godflesh for 3 days. When I came back, several squirrels ran out the front

Haha man i hope not! I moved in about a year ago now and ive heard them gnawing on the roof but never thought one would find his way in. Like i said the dumbwaiter (or my son calls it a "dinglehop" haha) goes to the roof. Theres a small gap at the top that i always thought was sketchy but not big enough for a squirrel. I havnt been upthere sumce befire the storm so its possble yhe door on the roof may have blown open or something

In all honesty, hope you get your homestead cleaned up, percolating with heat again, and then on to assessing any more damage your uninvited guests might have caused you.

Squirrels chewed the fuel lines on my truck last summer,...$750 later, was a difficult pill to swallow. At any rate, they're not welcome here.

Man i hope thats all the damage they did. Im pretty sure they o ly.had access to the dinglehop and the music area. Ill look aprund a bit.more.tomorrow and see

Heres a pic of the door for the dinglehop in my living room. Thankfully, i have a few different sytems scattered around the house and my living room system (scott 299c+Wharfedale w90d) will be able to pick up the slack until i either find a L-153w cerwin Vega woofer or finish the cornwalls ive been slowly working on.

Edit:also bonus in the above pic, a current picture of Doc (Watson or gonzo depending on his mood haha) without his Christmas clothes

apparently he did a stonkin' dark star tonight.

Haha yeah it was tight man, like i said earlier, im lucky to have a back up.system or 2 a.d was able to enjoy the stream. I jumped in st the beginning of the first set dark star and caught the second set as well. The 2nd dark star tonight seemed super open ended. I think he will do a continuous dark star through the entire 6 night run. Similar to the way the dead handled it back in... i think it was 1970 or 71?

well, now I've got to go listen to it.
