Over the years I've gone from constantly buying different audio gear and never getting rid of it. Gifting it to my kids who unfortunately don't all share my (or maybe better) my addiction to audio. So much to choose from and so little money anymore these days. I started out with a Pioneer SX 780. A thing of beauty. But then I heard a Sansui in comparison and wanted that instead. While saving for the Sansui I kept looking and listening to other brands, Marantz which looked cool, Kenwood which I almost bought and then I stumbled on an HK 730. Not sure why or what turned me on to it but it looked different and the sound to me was so superior to the others and I bought that. It was quieter by far than the Pioneer I had. By leaps and bounds better. Had 4 Avid 100s at the time that I felt didn't do the Pioneer justice so I picked up a pair of Polk 7s. Sheesh. They sounded great but once they were played on the HK they came to life. Sold the Pioneer and 2 Avids and kept the other pair Avids for backup.

Over the years I've had Marantz integrateds,Yamaha, Sansui, Rotel NAD, HK 505 and Onkyo integrated amps. The A-10 Onkyo was my favorite out of all the others. I've had Genesis 1+ and Genesis II+ and those were great speakers. Had different JBL speakers over the years with buyers remorse on some of them. Advents, EPI, AR, Infinitys and a par of Cerwin Vega in my can't get it loud enough days as well as EV Sentry III and RTR Magnums. Ran a Citation 19 poweramp and Citation 11 preamp with those speakers and Sherwood Poweramps as well.

As of right now I have a Citation 24 I'm taking in to get fixed as it is in protect mode. That's the first and only problem I have ahd with that poweramp. I picked up a Kenwood poweramp cheap to hold me over till I get the Citaion in. Not in a hurry right now. I also have an Onkyo surround system in my computer room and Sony surround in the living room with 4 MB Quartz Domain 55s which heat that Sony up pretty good without fans. The Sony and Onkyo are entry level AVRs but suit my needs for right now.

Well not to interesting of audio background on me as you can see nothing to special in the way of audio gear but I have had fun bouncing around with different gear. I know I have forgotten some pieces I've had over the years but this what I remember.

Have a great day :)

Thank you for your "detailed audio history". It is far more colourful than a lot of "enthusiasts" who have preceded you. All throughout your background of listening, you've kept your focus. Good for you!

Some never arrive at their intended "Nirvana". Oft times I think more than once, it is a mythical sense of hearing achievement that they never attain with that just-out-of-reach sensory goal. But, each to their own. It is a ...highly subjective path at best. IMO
