How much is too much

I have a Fender Twin Reverb with JBL K120 speakers. It has permanent caster wheels and is still a bear to cart around. I have no idea of the actual weight. Maybe 90 pounds?

I think the heaviest audio amp I had was a SAE A501. I think it hit around 50 pounds on the scale.

My Cary V12 is 85 pounds and that is a two-channel amp, I know the mono blocks weigh more as the transformers are much larger. I wouldn't be surprised if these Altec 1570b's weight more, the feel heavier. And those are monos so you need two to make a stereo.

how much is to much weight for a stereo kt-120 tube amplifier fully loaded, Thanks
weight is a factor in any design

I assume that your "to much" is actually supposed to be "too much"..

so to answer the question, too much weight is anything more than what gets the job done

No, live!
Dunno. I do deadlifts with dead weights.

I'm an insufferable Deadhead!

Thanks, guys. I love these answers; I am always the optimist. I wrote to instead of too, okay? I apologize for that. What is the right answer for amp weight? I'd now say whatever it takes to achieve what you want.

I would ask myself : how often do I have to move the thing and where ?
Casters or dollies are options but I know amps that need a pallet truck / forklift to be moved.
But staircases will always be a problem .

I don’t think too much about the actual weight or size of my equipment. I focus on the sound—my McIntosh MC275 weighs 67 lbs.; my Klipschorns each weigh close to 200 lbs.—that is, of course, until I have to lift or move them. I’ve always believed in form following function—as in: whatever the job requires. But it’s not so much the weight of that 275, as it is its distribution. The amp’s weight—mostly in the rear transformers—is not in any way balanced, which makes it a pain to maneuver.
