How much is too much

I have a Fender Twin Reverb with JBL K120 speakers. It has permanent caster wheels and is still a bear to cart around. I have no idea of the actual weight. Maybe 90 pounds?

I think the heaviest audio amp I had was a SAE A501. I think it hit around 50 pounds on the scale.
My Ampeg SVT is also around 90 lbs if I am not mistaken! Bought just for the pleasure of having one, no plan to move it, fixed furniture in my humble home studio.

Those GU50 tubes are real nice sounding. How much power are you getting out of them in PP? I have two SE GU50 amplifiers.
I have a SE GU50 that makes about 14-15W. It is a pentode 6p15p driving the GU50 in pentode with plate to plate feedback. Realy nice. Very triode like.

The PP is GU50 triode with 6E5p in triode with plate chokes. The bias is class A so still about 15W but I like it lots. It gives my Cary PP 300b amp a run for the money. I used Eico ST-70 output transformers which are very good. With no global feedback the -3dB points are below 10Hz and just over 100kHz at 1W.

How about this? MC2.1KW. Three modules per channel, output module weighs 125 pounds and each power module weighs 145 pounds. So for stereo you need two..250 pounds of output modules and 580 pounds of power modules for a grand total of 830 pounds.

I would ask myself : how often do I have to move the thing and where ?
Casters or dollies are options but I know amps that need a pallet truck / forklift to be moved.
But staircases will always be a problem .
Regards F.
I had a friend who had a block-and-tackle setup (that his landlord was cool about) to lug his Fender Twin Reverb and Super Reverb amps up to his 2nd-story room.

On Wall Street, the answer to that question (How much is enough?) is: Twice whatever you have.:p
Remember, "Too big to fail."

Appears you are like me and like the Russian tubes. I built my SE GU-50 as a triode only getting around 3.5 watts but glorious sound 3.5watts on my horns. It is built from a schematic I found buying a Chinese SE-GU50 kit on Ebay years ago, probably a decade or more.

Also using the 6P15P in a PP EL-84 amplifier by tying the suppressor grid to the cathode. The EL84 suppressor grid it tied to the cathode internally. Real quick tube. Before covid you could buy Russian NOS tubes real cheap. Not so much anymore.

Thanks to all for your answers. There is a reason for this post. For two years, I have been designing an amp and the final weight is around 97 pounds estimated (Guessed at some). I will post it after I make sure the schematics are the way I want them and that spelling and grammar are correct for you grammar buffs. I also wrote a report on this amp and its safety as best I could with explanations. I have been collecting parts when I can afford them and have the OPT's, tubes, screws & nuts, aluminum plates, plastic sheets, Jensen transformers for xlr outputs and wire. It has everything I could think of except auto-bias. I stayed with Dave Gillespie's EFB. My son, Coronal Panic, helped me make a cool 3D image I designed. Technology is getting wild out there. And my first computer was a 8086. Now I have this little box.
