How to improve your Polks (or... how to build Tannolks)

Cool!

How do the new crossovers sound?
Haven't had much chance to test them yet. I had them running for about 5 minutes, and they sound different, for sure. Bass seems to have backed off a notch... I hope it's just a matter of getting these caps "burned in," or whatever it is they do.

That looks awesome and mimics your tube amps nice with the two tone. Very nice work.

Thats downright gorgeous Nate!

Now all you need is some cookie coolers from RayW and you are all set!
I was downstairs with my 3yr old this weekend and heard her saying, "Why does this push in? Boink boink boink..."

:yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

No damage done, but I might shop for cookie coolers soon...:sigh:

Not gonna say I told ya so.

He told ya so.

You need to talk to Gary about cutting some MDF rings that will sit around the driver. Stretch the grill cloth over the ring (it's a pain to get things uniform in a circle, but not impossible). Then you have a grill that hides the driver, is acoustically transparent, and doesn't hide the enclosure. That's what I'd do anyway.

Guess I'm late to the party again. <grin> I just happened across this thread this morning. I am just blown away by the ingenuity of all you guys. Wow! I would love to hear these sometime, Nate.

How about this one... Read it on the audio tweaks site.

Place one quarter on each end of the front top of your speaker cabinets, and a dime in between them (equidistant to each quarter)

Supposed to tame any treble resonances and "tighten the bassline"

Well, I did it for kicks. The tweak advertised itself as only costing $.60/speaker and so far, I haven't noticed anything..:D
