I have a question found some hpm-60 in really good shape except for the woofers ,where the acordian meets the cone it is swelled up and bumpy almost all the way around .I have never seen this before on the cloth surrounds ,what does this mean?

Are you referring to the first generation HPM-60's or the second generation HPM-60's? The first generation did not have the same woofer surrounds as the second (which were cloth).

Check the first letter of the serial number on the back of each speaker. If it is a V, W, or X (1975, 1976, or 1977) it is a first gen set. If it is a Y, Z, or A (1978, 1979, or 1980) it is a second gen set.
