Hurricane Hilary - SoCal Takes a Rare Hit

Well maybe CA`s. weather remains more stable than FLs. does, because here it can and does change frequently over the course of the day, or even hrs. !
Summer time Thunder storms often develop suddenly over an area that is mostly clear sky and sunny, with the drop in the area`s temperature over 15 degrees in a few minutes time.
A old statement used around FL. by long time Floridians concerning the WX: Is if you don`t like the weather right now ? well just wait a few minutes or so and it will change, but not often for the desired better !
Same as here in the Midwest. We can typically see temperature changes of 80 degrees within 24 hours. Usually warm to cold.

Cold fronts can do that here too, just usually not 80 degrees spread temperature differential, probably due to the Atlantic coast ~20 miles to the East of me, plus the North flowing very wide St. Johns river ~1000 ft. across the street from my house holding the temperature from a greater extreme change.

We just had an earthquake hit SoCal. Anyone feel it?
EDIT: Actually had 5 notifications according to the USGS, all near Ojai, CA with the largest one at 5.1.

Friends in Santa Barbara and Ventura wrote to say they felt it, and @ the community-based website West Mesa Neighbors (small segment w/in Santa Barbara), many threads are going on this topic.

Looks like the rain is over, storm total for my area was 2.19" - that's a good soaking. Did finally get some wind 6-9pm, but nothing worrisome.

And the sun is supposed to pop out later this afternoon.
