Hypothetical Question

............I'm looking for the guy that lives with the 919. Not just someone that has briefly heard one.

I live with a 919, but never heard any Luxman.

Throw another specific into the mix. If I were a rich man, I'd keep the 919 and buy a few spares to keep for parts and probably never even think about the new Luxman.

Being in actuality a poor man, I'd probably take the Luxman, sell it, buy a replacement 919 and use the difference to cover my expenses for a couple of months.

No, I probably wouldn't really buy another 919. I'd probably buy another MX-1 instead. A great sounding amp is worthless without great sounding speakers, and the 919 isn't comfortable with my best sounding speakers.

..........non-standard output jack spacing..........
.......also looks to have non-standard banana spacing...........

Would this really be an issue for anyone?

Seems like this thread is slowly, but surely going off-topic...
My vote would be the Sansui, just for the looks. I've never liked the looks of Luxman gear, looks too "sterile" to me. I believe that the head to head test would be indecisive between the two in normal listening conditions for most of us. Maybe it's just me and my taste, but I've cast my vote.

Conventional well built ps's allow for more than 1,9dbs.
1,9db is not exactly the headroom we look for in the hifi. Rather it goes with the pa business.

Lol. Very few "hi fi" amps have much headroom above rated power, including most vintage favorites. Some very, very expensive amps have zero headroom because they have stiffly regulated supplies.
