I did 109 MPH Yesterday evening...Whats the Fastest You've ever Driven?

About 140 on the autobahn in Germany some years ago. What was more fun was when the company rep brought me to the office at 100+ in the pouring rain with Pink Floyd blasting on the then new auto CD player. You always have to look way down that left lane because no matter how fast you think you're going, something can blow by you like you're standing still.

I've pinned the speedo on my Wide Glide at 125 a few times. Also done 150ish in rear engined dragsters....

Driving in my GTO I was 150+ when she was new, 2004. I was slowing down when I looked at the speedo passing back over 150. Barely felt fast. I was clocked at 121 in her once. The fastest I've been on my bike is somewhere around 115 / 120. Hard to look down at the speedo at those speeds. Bike is also a bit unnerving at those speeds for me. I hit 105 to 110 weekly getting on the highway with the bike but only for a brief bit o'time. The limit for me seems to be holding the throttle open once I go past 100. Which is odd because I cruise around 80 / 90 mph for 30-40 minutes on a fairly regular basis.

I'm not sure how fast I've been in the passenger seat. I had quite a few friends with very fast cars back in the day.

A little over 134 on a motorcycle, but it wasn't the speed that was the scary part... It was the stopping that got scary as hell... It was on a 1/4 mile track, and the bike had solid bars in the rear instead of shocks... You got no clue what wheel hop is like at 100 mph until you're way past the stopping point... Either ride it out, or hit the fence... neither is a fun option...

110 mph in a '91 VW Fox GL traveling on IH45 from Dallas to Houston. State trooper pulled me over & let three other cars go that were following me. Geesh!

Well, I was speeding a bit :D, but he gave me a warning. Believe that?

Never drove that fast again.

Florida Highway Patrol said ( I think, long time ago) 153 mph going over the Buckman Bridge here in Jax in a first generation Pantera. The Pantera still had a little left in it. Trooper had trouble keeping a straight face, wrote a ticket for 10 mph over the speed limit and said, "don't do that sh*t on that bridge again."

Oh man, a Pantera? I bet that ticket was worth every penny. I love those cars.

114 on the freeway in one of these.

Radiator cap blew off and spent the rest of the drive (30 or so miles) stuffing snow into the radiator.

Did the same thing in my '05 GTO. I had it just over 150MPH on the stretch of highway between Birch Run and Frankenmuth. The old lady looked over and said "Do you think we're goiong fast enough?" :lmao: Not that I condone letting loose on a public roadway like that, it was early in the morning and nobody else was on the road ;)

can't say for sure...back when i might actually be silly enough to do it myself or get in with someone that would...the speedo's generally topped out at 120mph max,85mph if the car was "newer".

you seriously don't even want to know what kind of POS cars we took that fast,it scares me to this day to think about driving my old 76 Nova at well over 100mph.bad tires, bad brakes, everything worn out and not much holdin her together but the rust...but young and stupid.

~125 in my Towncar, somewhere about 115 in the Mark VII. The S10 is speed-limited to 95. The Dakota would not break 90 if I had dropped it out of an airplane. Believe it or not, once, and only once, I was able to get my 1973 VW SuperBeetle to 100. it took a couple miles to get from 90 to 100, but it did it. Never managed that again either, despite trying a couple times. It never broke 90 after that. I think I must have killed a hampster running it flat out for a couple miles. It wasn't entirely stock, dual carbs, header, small cam, electronic ignition, but it wasn't anything radical either. Stock motors wouldn't break 80 in those.

Drove from Sioux City to Sioux Falls full-tilt in my 91 Taurus SHO.... indicated 145 mph...
Very quiet except wind from top of the side windows. Was late to the MEPS station there as I had just joined the Marine Corps.

The scariest, by far was the snowmobile.

This is true, snowmobiles are scary. I rode on back with a girl who rode snowmobiles all her life, when I was about 14 or 15, & she was going about 70 & 80, trying to impress me, I think. It worked. :D Fastest I've driven a car was an "estimated" 160-170. My '71 Firebird had a speedometer that went to 140, and it would definitely be still picking up speed, past that, but it's hard to guess. :scratch2: On a motorsickle, the fastest I've gone was 110, and that's plenty, really. They make bikes much differently now though, so if I were 21 again, that might seem kinda slow. :scratch2: :D

I used to have a 1995 Chevy Caprice with LT1 350 and 3.73 posi rear end, the fastest I ever went was 140mph. I could have gone slightly faster as the car was supposed to top out at 148 but I got close enough. I was almost late for work. The car handled surprisingly well at that speed, it had variable steering that lessened the amount of assist from the power steering as the car went faster. It felt tight like a Japanese race car once it got over 100mph. I was impressed, but I only did it once as the tires weren't rated for high speed and they weren't new either. A blow out at that speed= death.

110-ish in my own personal vehicle, and about 120 in a friend's Mustung - both back in my high school days when I was just a little more foolish...

The fastest I've ever been in car was being driven in a Mercedes at 155mph on the Autobahn. That was quite a rush at first, but dare I say it? After a little while, triple-digit speeds got kinda boring. Just a faster way to get down the highway, even the little econo VWs were keeping up at 110-120...
