That could be the steal of the sale, as they have them just stacked back in a corner like a couple old buffets.
They could possibly be the most valuable item there...
I was there and the estate sale guy was getting bids around 2500 for them. He knew what they were and what a deal price would be. I had no idea what they were until he pointed them out to me...then I looked here of course.
Went up there around 3pm and the items I wanted to see we're gone. I was hoping to see a higher powered receiver or two at least. First hour he said there was a huge mass of people. And all the low hanging fruit were taken. Lower powered Marantz were all I knew by that time. Someone here with a much better trained eye could still find something's very interesting. Plenty of speakers still, a lot of heathkit type equipment, even a fisher 400. But none of that stuff works for me, I own a Marantz 2216 already and wanted to find a good deal on a bigger receiver. I suspect we will be seeing some of this equipment showing up on CL as the estate guy said some of his repeat customers were up there hour 1 and he had put some things out to "leave a little room" for them.
Thanks for the post, I happened to be within 20 minutes so I went to my first estate sale just to look around as I had an hour to kill. This guy had collected A LOT of different things. Was probably an interesting guy to know. But it did give me pause to be browsing his property so casually. Felt mildly odd for me if that makes any sense.
Go tomorrow or the next day and get the tubes, spare parts, raw drivers, etc, heck even those marantz, etc at better prices than they were listed for today. because there's more than likely some jewels still sitting in the open for those of you here who know what you're doing...
And again, thanks for the heads up. I took nothing say but the experience, and it was still worth it.
