I have. I've taken away a full Heathkit mono system and a Fisher 7591 integrated full of Telefunken 12AX7s.

Absolutely. Once, at an auction, I got some laboratory preamp (non-audio) added to a lot I won, because nobody wanted it and the auctioneer "put a dollar on it" (which means that whoever wins the next lot also gets it for $1).

It sat in a corner for months until I eventually got around to looking inside it - three Mullard 10M Master Series 12AX7s!
