Hello Audiokarma people!

Just picked up a Technics SL QX200 with this Shure on it - any knowledge of replicability and worthiness appreciated!

(Also, experiences of P mount to 1/2 adapters? Worth it?)

My guess would be a Shure V 15 LT, which is considered to be pretty good. The needle is the same as the V 15 type III.

An interesting one! Will test it out on a rotten record to see if it works, but looks to be worth a new needle after reading if it does

I have one of these. It is the p-mount version of the V15 type IV; the replacement stylus is the VN45LT, and isn't easy to find.

First order of business before testing it would be to make sure the diamond is absolutely clean. If you have a magnifier, get a close look.

No such thing exists. There are 1/2" to p-mount adapters that allow you to use a p-mount cartridge in a 1/2' mount head, but if you have a p-mount head, you are stuck with a p-mount cartridge.

HTHMAN is correct.
If you have a standard-mount turntable as well as a p-mount table, you can get a standard-mount V15 Type IV body and use the p-mount V15 LT stylus in it. A V15 Type III body will also work. Not that either of these bodies are what I'd call cheap on that eBay thing, but there are other places to look.

Many thanks for all your help!

Have been examining the options and will continue to do so! I simultaneously picked up another SL QX200 with a P30 on it and a SL QD33 that needs a cart - the world of P Mount has opened up to me... !
