Infinity RS-4b - fair market value

Market value can vary a lot.
Ebay archives contain a recently-closed auction for a set of 4b's that ended with no bids. They had a starting minimum bid of $199 and a bin price of $350, but no interested bidders. The seller presented them as having a recent repair to one woofer and drew attention to a picture exhibiting wear in the cabinet and some otherwise unnatural-looking woofer cones.
The audiogon.com blue book shows an average price of $370, but does not graph the price history due to insufficient data. My recent experience is that vintage hifi prices are lower now, possibly due to the various pressures on the economy. There seems to be less gear for sale.
Your speakers look wonderful and should command a higher price. If you are going to sell them, I recommend a narrative description that covers every possible selling point--as much history as is known, how they were cared for, how they sounded, why they are being sold, what literature or receipts accompany the speakers, and plenty of good pics like the one in your post. Be sure to tell the Infinity story. If you intend to sell them, best of luck.

Many thanks for the info on the Audiogon blue book value. I am not a member there, and do not have access to those data. I saw the eBay auction and there is also a current one starting at $0.99. I am watching that one to see where it will go.
AK rules say that you can inquire about fair market value, as long as you don't say if the purpose of your asking is an intention to buy or sell or just pure curiosity. This is to avoid D&S turning into a sales forum. So please excuse if I don't elaborate on my reasons for asking.

After I refoamed mine, I had the locals badgering me to sell mine once they heard them. I wasn't interested in selling, so to get them off my back, I quoted a price of $300 or $350, figgering that was high. It worked because that was the end of that discussion, but now I know I wasn't far off. However, mine aren't currently for sale, since I'm listening to them right now...:thmbsp:
