Hi Pete - thanks for the friendly welcome. I was so excited after I found you guys that I bought a G-5700 in "excellent" condition and probably paid too much for it...$150 before shipping...if you'd like to take a look, the item # is 5775201937. I'll put together a list of my stuff and post it later. Thanks again for the welcome!

Great for you Havingfun I am using my 8080 right now giving my G-7700 a rest. Ebay is still price happy still. I am waiting for summer to hit then I will get that Big G-9000 I have been lusting after for 20 years.
Let us know how you like the G-5700.

This is how it starts. First a G-5700, then maybe a 9090/DB, then a G-8000 next a, well, you get the picture. The G-5700 is a nice piece you will enjoy it. Will it be in a different room than the G-8700?

g-5700 and ebay price cycles

Hi - got the 5700 in the mail yesterday and I'm getting ready to open it now...it will be for my bedroom if it sounds really good. Re ebay being price happy Ron, what's that about? Are there cycles related to stereo equipment? Would love to get your read on that. I'll let you know how the 5700 turns out  .

Here is the way I look at it in the summer there are less people hanging around the computer and less people bidding on Ebay and less bidding wars.
Then the winter hits more people with nothing to do sitting at the computer bidding and bidding. So in the summer prices can be lower. Thats my take on it :D So I am hoping to get my dream G-9000 this summer without a bidding war.

Hey,BF,does that brochure have the 3900z in it?I picked one up at a thrift about a month ago for 5 dollars.Didnt really thrill me much, and had a few issues with sound dropping in and out, etc. It didnt feel very well built or substantial to me.I still have it.Its in really fine cosmetic condition, except for the tuner light isnt working, unless it doesnt have one cause its digital.....
