The very best cables in my experience have the lowest values of C and L providing a much closer to ideal EDC.I think the more complex you make a cable the likelihood of screwing it up are higher, capacitance and inductance issues can creep in.
You’ve either proven it to yourself (whatever your personal belief in interconnects is) and are good or you haven’t. Or you dont care, not a bad belief to have IMHO. Glad I’m good. It was not always this way. And I am fully confident that I have done more interconnect testing/comparisons than 99% of the people on here. Used to be fully obsessed with high dollar interconnects back when I recorded and constantly upgraded interconnects/mic cables over my 500+ masters. Lots of cable comparisons recording my stereo as well. All that stuff (Harmonic Tech single crystal, Audiotruth Lapisx3, etc) is long gone. Most of my interconnects these days are homemade with old bulk/spool Audioquest 75 Ohm Mac3-1 coax cable, though I did just get an 8’ basic blue jeans set of RCAs. That is good enough for me. As far as do cables burn in? My 0.02? NO! Thus the term psychoacoustics.![]()

I need to open a business like that... It would be a PURE money making venture spewing out "snake-oil" from fire hoses...I've seen at least one company that charges a "burn in" fee on their cables if the buyer wants them "already burnt in".
Can't remember who though.

You sure it was the cables that made this system sound so good?!?I have listened to cables that are quite pleasing to the ears. This was on a all John Curl system on Martin Logan electrostatic speakers
I agree low C and L are very important. I witnessed a amplifier go into oscillation and go up in smoke from a set of water hose sized speaker cables must be 20 years ago or so now. At least it was at the dealers showroom that it happened at needless to say the potential customer passed on them. I don't recall what brand they were. The very best cables in my experience have the lowest values of C and L providing a much closer to ideal EDC.
Qualitatively, the effective dielectric constant (LC/1034) measures the time domain. Much like jitter in the digital world.I agree low C and L are very important.
I used to do a little bit of modeling while in college. A little bit of photoshop here and there...Ya just need to market it properly and the sky is the limit!

Thank you for the lovely compliment. I'm the one in the right, and that is my friend Ute on the left. If you look closely, the big guy in the background with the glasses, that's my husband Steven. Are you the hottie on the left or right? Just curious.
You're welcome!!!Hell bells and cackleshells. Cheers, and thanks!![]()

Best of luck to you!I need to open a business like that... It would be a PURE money making venture spewing out "snake-oil" from fire hoses...![]()
Thank you!!!Best of luck to you!
