Is there no end!!!

Copa1934

My ears are bleeding
Just saw on IMDB that "Star Wars: Episode 1" is to be re-released February. There is no shame for this man is there?

Are sales of the Blu-Ray dogging so Lucas feels a need to inject some interest?

Now, is the the FIRST episode that came out in 1977 or "Chapter One" of the triple trilogy that came out in the '90s, IIRC ?!? The last one I really enjoyed was with Lou Rawls & Pizza The Hut...An' Debbie Reynolds' daughter lookin' All Growed Up...(grin)

...An' I KNOW damn good 'n' well it was Bernie Casey that was in that one, NOT Lou Rawls....Mbwahahahahahaha....

This past week I picked up the Star Wars Trilogy widescreen special edition laserdisc boxed set (the one with CGI "enhancements"), to sit alongside the earlier (untouched, original version) boxed set. I splurged to get it; it cost me a whopping twelve bucks and change. After that, I can't see much reason to lay out for yet another version. :D

:scratch2:...but when it hits the thrift shops for a buck, I'll probably get this new version, too. :D

Is it not a good thing that people who never saw the movie on the big screen will now be able to?

Gone With the Wind had several re-releases, you think Selznick was shameless (because of that I mean)?

But wait, there's more!!!......Isn't Episode 1 the first of the 3 prequels that Lucas threatened to redo in 3D? I saw a promotional poster at the local cineplex pretty much stating this a couple of weeks ago while buying tickets for Twilight-Breaking Wind-Part 1.

It'd be an even better thing if he released the original trilogy to theaters, you know...the ones people want to see, the ones that a large portion of the fanbase have never had a chance to see in theaters.

George Lucas has been proven shameless for his many other infractions...so it isn't just re-running the movies in theaters, it's his insistance on altering them, not releasing the unmolested version, coming out with a new edition every three years, unyielding marketing of everything they can paste "star wars" too, etc. Lucas is kind of a hack when you get to it.

I actually don't mind theatrical re-runs, I just wish it'd be of movie i'd like to see on the big screen, Put Leone, Kubrick, etc up and i'll pay full price. But i'm not going to see a cash-grab attempt of a movie most aren't fond of.

Given his need to reedit episode 4, what is to stop him from making changes to the prequels?

Maybe he'll remove all the insentive racial stereotypes! HA HA, no chance:no:

EDIT: @Mhardy, what's to bring up? Han shot first, end of story:D

...and no one's even brought up the Greedo/Han Solo thing yet...

BAH!! Don't get me started on who shot who first. I just watched the original laserdisc not too long ago to see the actual 4:3 unmolested version of this.

Han shoots first and then a big cloud of smoke and pyrotechnics and the Greedo is dead, deader than effin' Zed, man.

Watch it if you can find an unraped version.

The only reason he does this crap is because buttnuts are willing to shell out their money for this poop.

A 4:3 version of Star Wars is unmolested?

The laserdisc version was matted widescreen in 4:3 frame. Now, my Betamax bootlegs, dubbed from originlal video releases in the 80's are unmolested 4:3.

So, are we talking about something that was filmed 4:3 and then matted to get the proper aspect ratio, or a 4:3 pan and scan version?
