I just pick up a set of JBL 4312A. They sound great and in great condition. Cabinets have hardly any wear plus all drivers work awesome.

Those are the kind of speakers that make you wonder what you could ever be happier with. I am using the 4311B as mains. When you use what the professional recording/mixing studios use, it's more about the source than the equipment. Who wants to hear a "flat" system?

You like 'em, fine, but the rest is myth....

EVERY system has it's own interpretation of the source. The "right" speakers with the wrong amp (or other) is up to your own ear for appreciation. Anyone can like a lot of different sounds (interpretations) but to judge where one is an improvement or "better" than another is up to the one who cares about such things. I am sure if O'bama (What?! He's not Irish?) is elected (God help us all), we will all live together in harmony.

I have 2 pair of 4311s. I lived with them in audio ecstasy for over 30 years. It was of little consequence to me that they weren't 'flat'. I used an equalizer to adjust them to my liking, and a Pioneer RG to 'warm them up'.

The 4312's look similar to my eyes, although I've never heard a pair. All I know is my JBL's are absolutely amazing.

Good find PAZ Alive......great speakers, even if holy water isn't spinkled on them by all. I have a sweet pair of JBL 4312A speakers that I bought new years ago installed in a motorhome. I drive them with a very clean Tandberg 3008A preamp, Yamaha P2100 amp, and a JVC CD player. The JBL's make the ol' camper rock. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

I just sold a pair of 4312a's. They were a lot better than a whole lot of other speakers I have/had. The titanium treated dome is better than the 4311 or L100 tweeters, IME.
Even though they seemed to reproduce a fairly flat response, the mid always seemed to be a little forward or over-bearing or something to that effect. The woofer was a little boomy but Ok for me as I wasn't pushing them to any level higher than a nearfield volume. All said, a good speaker and I'm sure you'll enjoy them. They look to be in fine shape, as well.
I'm still on the fence if I want to thin the herd some more and sell my 4313b's. That is a much better speaker in the low ranges to my ears. The tweeter is not too shabby either. Well I guess I just settled that. :yes:They aren't going anywhere. I like JBL's.
