The center channel on top of the TV does appear rather out of place.

Oh they make the cut, they just have some stiff competition is all. :yes: And I still have all the parts to make either a pair of 4435's or another set of 4430's. I'm thinking I need to get the 4430's up off the ground more, and possibly get the aluminum diaphrams for the horns. But I have to remember, they sounded perfect until compared to the Frazier Elevens. :dunno:
 
Playing vinyl makes a huge change in the way the 4430's sound, highs are very much better. It figures that digital tracks just are not the best for testing. :no:

If I had 4435's I would want to rotate the horn 90 degrees and stand them up on end with the horns on the inside. Take less floor space that way I'm thinking. Any one ever tried the idea. And I definitely have thick carpet and padding under the speakers to get rid or tone down the floor reflection off the upper midrange from the woofers. Its a shame the speakers don't cross over to a front horn loaded 10 " for the mids from 250 up to 3000 Hz or so. The idea of a 15 inch woofer working up close to 1000 Hz gives me the willies.
 
I do think it's not a bad idea to raise them up a bit, but those low-mass 2234H woofers have fairly low distortion at 1,000 Hz, I do believe; see page 6 here:

As to vertical configuration, it has been done; see

I find them a bit less attractive in that configuration, although the execution appears flawless.

Awesome work Steve, great find and rehab! I love the look of these and envy the performance. Stupid question of the post, can't find it on the interweb anywhere, are these the speakers that John Cusack's (Rob) had in High Fidelity? I think so... cool!

Ha; found it! (In the background on the left.) I'm thinking 4425s; maybe too small for 4430s.
