You had me till no crossover, but the Dead used them for the Wall of Sound and I'm loving my 130 do guitar amp duty.

It works. JBL sold it as a full-range system back in the '50s, designed to be able to augment—as money became available—with the 075 HF ring-radiator after that driver became available. The D130 isn't the best for low, or highs, but it has an amazing ability to reproduce the sound of stringed instruments from 'cello to violin and guitar with incredible realism. I've had D130 030 system in my house for over 60-years. It hasn't been my main system for decades but I'm not letting them go.
There was a time in my teens where I used my stereo system to practice with my Gibson EB-0 bass, and they did that well, too.

I have 075’s and 175’s but I have never the D130’s by themselves.
Yes you have, but don't realize it.
Literally, thousands upon thousands of guitar amplifiers from most major manufactures offered these in their TOTL or as an up grade and at one time or another you have either heard them live or in a recording.

They reach just to 4000HZ before rolling off rapidly. The bass below 60 hz isn't much either unless placed in a horn loaded corner cabinet. I guess they would make a great AM radio station monitor. Though we used Bozak B207's and Altec 601's. 604 were just to darned expensive.
