JBL Horn Speakers?

The ad says:

JBL 4671 Horn loaded speakers. These sound great bit way too big for my listening area. 500.00 and you own them. The cabs need a little work and have screws in the sides where they were hung in an auditorium. Extremely efficient! Big a truck, they are huge and over 100lbs each! Open to trades if you got something I'm interested in!

I'm wondering where the $100 speakers are.

Since then I replaced the 2225 with 2235 closing 2 of the 4 ports for an F3 of 31.6 Hz. Deeper bass with the same slam. Just a notch or two higher on the volume control.
My set was the 4671. I cut nto the baffle to install the 2370 horn. I copied the 4671OK.

BTW. That set is the 4671OK. Oak vinyl veneer with the 2370A horn installed in the cabinet. That set didn't use a separate 3110A but the components on a board.
A great sounding system if you have the space. The 4671/4671OK does need a sub, but if you can install the 2235 you'll be ok.

Reading janikphoto's & rogerfederer's links from the past saddens me. Zilch was a great friend and source of information. His open minded nature served him well.

Haven't listened to/owned many vintage JBL's eh?

I'm always amazed that a company that set so many industry standards in component design and engineering managed to make so many mediocre sounding speakers with them.

Don't get me wrong, they made and still make some excellent speaker systems. The ones in the OP are NOT representative.
