JBL stage speakers?

Well, if the 2225's were reconed with true JBL recone kits, then that's worth it right there. But sounds like a non-JBL compression driver though. Could be fun in a PA sort of way, but unsure if it's high fidelity. The LF enclosure drops off pretty fast below 60hz or so so there's no really true sub frequencies out of that.

Could be pretty nice for a band though.

I have several pair of these and they work just fine for Hi-Fi. Very efficient. Put many of them in movie theatres over the years, they always EQ'd great. $150=good price.

Thanks,
Andy

Are you really interested or just posting. If these were a deal at $300 you would not be asking to pick these up. Don't be so cheap :D Just go and pay for them and then show them in your system.

Happy New Year!

I don't really have room for them at the moment. I was posting, because they seem like a deal, and several other north texas AK'ers might want them.

Your original post was "thoughts". Like you were going to purchase them. Not to bust your chops but the question is if you should purchase them. At $300 these... this is not a lot of money for them. Go get them and tell your wife you are building an addition on the house for your new audio room:D.

Those are a complete 2 way speaker. That is a 15" 2225H JBL woofer in a semi-horn loaded cabinet. No bass bin needed.

Thanks,
Andy

They would be okay for a barn dance or keg party. Why on earth would you want those for your home?

I don't have those cabs or horns, but I do use a pair of 2225 for my low end in my rig and a pair of E120's for the mids powered by a quad of Allen 75's. For the highs I use Altec mantray CD horns, (can't remember the driver number but it's the one with the tangerine phase plug), or a pair of Altec 802C's on 511 horns powered by a pair of Eico's HF60's or HF89. The bite of the 2225's are that they only down to 30Hz and are not a fast speaker. Mate's up well with the E120's in my system. All very efficient.

I just wanted to hear people's thoughts on the speakers at that price point. What's wrong with that?
