looking for a place that re cones the 2214H I have a set that need done. I'm in the Pennsylvania area.

Thinking of testing my abilities and doing it myself at this point. It just seems more cost effective.

What exactly are the condition of the 2214H woofers that they need to be reconed and not simply refoamed? I have a pair of L100T speakers and I am always curious about the different ways in which the woofers can potentially fail. I refoamed my 2214H woofers and it was fairly easy. I then had a separate incident where the spider started to detach from the frame and it would have been a disaster had I not caught it early.

I was refurbing a pair of these from my boss,and one of the woofer cones had been chewed through by rats,Gordon W on this site re coned and refoamed that woofer,the other I refoamed.

One is a simple re foam but the other speaker is frozen solid so a re cone is a must sadly. I've never even heard them. I bought them this way

Ah. When you recone the woofer, if it is at all evident exactly how the woofer became frozen, maybe you can take a picture or two and let us know

If the pole piece shifted it will freeze the coil in the gap. And your done.
