Picked up a pair of JBL L100 t3's that I would like to refurb. Any JBL fans here who can give me some insight to these speakers? How do they compare to others in their class, etc.

They are JBL Studio Monitor equivalents in a compact floor-standing tower configuration.
Speakers don't come much better in this class, is what.... :thmbsp:

The surrounds are shot on both woofers and the cabinets could use some TLC and one speaker is missing the JBL emblem that was mounted at the front top left corner. Otherwise they look to be in good shape. The dust caps look to be in perfect shape. I pulled out one of the woofers. That sucker has some mass to it. Looked inside and saw the crossover assembly mounted directly behind the woofer. Pretty looking crossover with lots of electronic do-dads there for sure. The plastic "stands" stapled on the bottom of the speaker look really cheap but since I do a little woodworking it will be an easy solution to come up with something better than what it came with. This will be a good project for me when I break from teaching during the Christmas holidays. Am I correct in that these speakers were made during the late 80's and early 90's or there abouts? And so should recapping even be necessary for these speakers? BTW - $49.99 for the pair at my local GW. Saw them earlier today but was not familiar with the model # so I came home and googled it and they seem to be somewhat rare from what I was able to gather. So I went back, hoping they were still there and they were. Now they are in my garage ready to be brought back to life. I will post some pics as soon as I can as they are.
