The last time I saw a pair for sale in ebay they went for around $500.00, which is a good price. They were original guts, cabinets and grills around 9.5 out of 10.
The original Fair Traded Price was around $479.00 a each. I still have mine and the only thing I had to replace was the Egg Crate foam fronts. I see that is going for $75.00 for each speaker.

L110 doesn't have an egg-crate-foam grille. Are you thinking L100 or others of that vintage?
Many ask the moon for the L110 and it's a nice little speaker. Normally they hang around $400 and a scroe would be closer to $200. I'm quite fond of my similar L96s.

I have a pair of L110. Like all good speakers, mate them with a good amp and you will never hear music that sounds as good for the money. I ran mine for a while with a Sony TA-N77ES (or something like that) and I have to say that is the best sound I had ever heard from a home system until then. I got mine for CHEAP and had them refoamed at an authorized JBL repair shop in Baltimore. I also owned the L100 once. There is no comparison. The L110 was way better but it does not have the following of the L100, therefore, you can get them much cheaper, about half the price of the L100. You need a good amp in order to compare speakers fairly. I eventually sold the amp which was one of my bigger mistakes.

Sure, if the re-foam was done properly and the mid-range domes aren't mangled as one appears to be. Hard to tell in CL photos hosted by CL. "Sanded and refinished" often means they weren't in the greatest shape to start with so I'd give them a good look-over before plunking down hard-earned cash.

I picked up a pair today for $150. The guy who sold them was selling for his father in law. They sat in a basement for 10 years unused. The father in law had them in two garage sales for 10$ but no takers.
The kid was pretty excited to get $150 for them. Look real nice, all speakers are supposed to be working. I will find out on Saturday at the end of my business trip.
Quick question, would these work with a Pioneer SA 9100 or should I be looking for more power? My music taste is all over the board with rock / alternative / christian etc.

thanks for the information. I don't know why I thought they needed more. My amp is rated for an honest 65 watts so that should be a good fit.

if they've been sitting unused... chances are very good that the foam is about to fall apart. It might look ok... but keep an eye on it when you power them up. If the foam lets go, do not play until repaired.

Mine have run full-range with a clean 95 wpc for many years in a pretty demanding role (but a small room).

I got home and hooked them up. Wow, this is a very good set of speakers. Does anyone have a recommendation for setup? Away from the wall or against it? Elevated?

I think just off the wall a bit, tilted back and raised a few inches. Nothing drastic, but flat on the floor is not ideal.

thanks. These might be finding their way onto my primary system. I hooked them up to a Philips 787 Receiver and they were awesome. I am going to try them with my Pioneer SA 9100 today. If they work better than my Boston Acoustics A200, they will be getting a lot of use.

This is an old thread, but I wanted to add that I just set up my pair of JBL L110s with a pair of L150's in a large room. All four are being driven by a Marantz 2325 receiver, rated at 125 wpc for two speakers. So it is running about 60-65 watts per channel playing all four speakers. The L150s are rated at 200 or 300 watts, I forget which. But they did well at 125 clean watts from the Marantz 2325. The only problem is that in a large room they were somewhat directional. You had to sit in front of them to get the channel separation. The four speakers together in a room about 25 x 35+, sound great. So glad I added the L110's to the set up.
It seems like I read somewhere a while back that the L110 was supposed to be the residential version of the L100 studio monitor. But I would need to confirm that.
I bought my pair of L110 speakers on eBay a couple of years ago. Think I paid $250-300 for them. The cross over and drivers seem fine. The cabinets are not chipped or broken, but they need to be refinished. Plan to start that next week. Now that they are in the living room, they need to look as good as they sound.
In summary, if you find a pair of L110's for under $300 in good shape, buy them. And if you are looking for a complimentary set of speakers for a larger room, I think you will be pleased with L110's. They are a great compliment to the larger L150 speakers, which have a 12" bass and 12" passive woofer.
