Jeep + McIntosh

Don't know if this is the appropriate section for this. But I just saw a commercial for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee with a McIntosh stereo package! Mac gear is a little rich for my blood. I just found it interesting and thought I'd share

So far, the McIntosh car audio is only available on Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Wagoneer, and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The Grand Cherokee L (not to be confused with the regular Grand Cherokee, or Cherokee) starts at under $40,000!

For that price, you should buy 2!

Just another example of badge engineered marketing.

I'm sure it sounds nice but probably not nice enough to justify the $4k for the package it's buried in.

A lot of cars use high end systems as high end options. I've seen Mark Livingston, Harmon Kardon. My Benz had a Burmeister, option. Hell my 2009 Chevy HHR, had a Pioneer outfit with sub, from the factory.
I forgot who they install but Lincoln and Caddies have a high end system option.
Just think of the years they have been installing Bose in cars. I've seen them with as many as 23 speakers installed in the car. The 23rd must be a sub.
The high end stereo option in my car was an extra $850. I didn't get it. The regular sounded good to me and even has a SD card reader.

Have a look on eBay to see the component pieces from these alleged high end manufacturer badge packages, often being sold from wrecking yards or parts pickers. It can be rather sobering.
Mc badged a Subaru stereo once too.
