Just found out a couple hours ago. Was watching 6pm news when they announced that a legendary rock star had passed. They didn't say a name. They were going to reveal after the commercial break. My mind was racing trying to think of who it could be. Someone from the Who, Zep, Floyd? Then I saw Becks picture on the screen. I couldn't believe it was him.
What can you say? He truly was a living legend in the world of music, guitar. Feel blessed to have been on this earth at the same time as this giant roamed the earth.

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing. After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family ask for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.”

His artful and emotional playing style was among the absolute best....a superstar among superstars. The performances at Ronnie Scott`s, with Tal, Vinnie Coliauta, and Imogen Heep will be forever burned into my memory.

He was one of kind when it came to harmonics and was always about the melody, the fact that he was able to put all those mind blowing phrases within the confinement of the melody is what set him apart from the herd.
