A great person and a pretty darn good basketball coach.
I saw him a few years back at a McDonald's All-American B-Ball game when I had some special passes.

Most everyone there just came up and shook his hand. I think like me most people there just had too much respect for him to even ask for an autograph though he did sign for those few who did.

He was the best at what he did. There are no exceptions. He grew up in the heart of basketball country, and during a time when values meant alot. Anyone who spent time with him will tell you that he was at the top of his game when it came to respect and loyalty. Nuff said...............:tears:

One of the men I have most admired in my life. I have always thought he was more of a philosopher or maybe a managerial genius who just happened to choose basketball. He would have excelled in any field.

I have been very sad about his passing as he possessed a level of class and character that I fear is now going the way of the dodo bird. Years ago I sent him an autograph request. He signed it within a week and sent me a business card with a little note. And of course he sent me a copy of the Pyramid.

Farewell Coach Wooden. Thanks for everything. You were one of the finest men who ever lived and represented the best in humanity.
