I was holding out replacing my old worn cassettes of the early albums because I heard about this new release in which I've been waiting a while. This release is sold in several configurations. Not sure which one I'll get. I guess the 3 LPs are only $48 which isn't too awful considering the prices of new releases on vinyl these days. ledzeppelin.com has all the info.

Tis a great thing for the person that does not already have the LZ collection. Hopefully it it will bring to the forefront one of the greatest bands that ever was introduced to the music scene. :smoke:

So I ordered the first LP in the deluxe set which comes with 2 other LPs and a book the 2nd &3rd I ordered LPs only - I can't wait too.....
In the mean time I just won an eBay bid for the 8 first originals LPs

Already pre-ordered I, II and III through Amazon.ca. Just the single record packages, no extras.

A ton of hype on these, perhaps too much. I am hoping the records can meet the high expectations.

I've checked out all the links on this thread and it seems like each of the three vinyl editions are around 38.00 USD am I mistaken in this? If so let me know. The amazon picture shows three albums but only lists Zep I and not the other two for 38.00.

Thanks

waiting to find out more about the extras since I already have what I need of the standard issues.

I bought the three deluxe CD's today as a taster before I jump into the LP's, and I can say they are pretty damn good remasters, I think they have done a great job.
There's some real clarity and some nice solid bass which I felt was always missing, we now get the complete audio picture......in fact i am going to say they did an outstanding job....

The unreleased stuff is pretty good too, some is live which is, well, as you would expect something recorded live in '69 to sound....
But the band was on fire and its a good listen....

I love it......just brilliant and a well done to Jimmy and the team......:thmbsp:

I am going to head out now and get the deluxe LP's next week.....

I can't wait until the rest of the albums come out!! Particularly Physical Graffiti.
I always found Graffiti to be incredibly LoFi......

Yeah, so don't flag these just because you already have the albums, go and get them, its a whole new listening experience, and a damn good one at that!!
The unreleased stuff is fantastic, it really shows Led Zeppelin as a young powerful entity, really on fire, the alternate Whole Lotta Love vocal take is off the chart, Plant was really on fire back then, and its nice to hear something we haven't heard before, its fresh.....just sensational!!

I'm curious to hear what the extras sound like. I have many SACD's with extras and frankly, most of the time I could pass as I don't really care about unfinished or rough studio outtakes, radio broadcasts or the like. But some of the BBC session stuff sounds pretty good.

I pre-ordered the first three LP's "standard" for $24 ea. through Soundstage Direct, I will evaluate and if they meet my expectations, I'm considering laying down the big bucks for the "Super Deluxe Edition Box Sets". I like "out takes" they come with a code to download the HD Tracks, and you get the CD's to boot.

I'll have 5-6 growlers of micro on hand and I'm planning a party ... we will spin all three from start to finish. Anyone heading to, or in the general vicinity of Portland OR is welcome! I have room for about 10 and I only expect 5-6 to show for the actual LP review. Details to follow but I am considering the weekend of the 6th and 7th or the next weekend 13th and 14th.

Is there an earlier release date in New Zealand, or are the CD sets being released before June 3?

That is a good point, it of course is the 31st here today, in fact almost the 1st of June...
So yeah perhaps.....I thought it was the same date the world over.....interesting

All the formats are available, even the super deluxe vinyl with the HD download codes....

I just got the CD's for a taster, so I think after the experience today, I will be straight out next week, or tomorrow to get the deluxe vinyl.....:thmbsp:

I wonder how II will compare to my old MoFi release which was pretty awesome?

I have every commercial release and about 300 bootlegs, and I can tell you from my experience with II today, I'll always be listening to this particular remaster, it really is quite good.
Fat, detailed, lush, powerful..........Whist not getting too far away form the essence of Led Zeppelin...
