what are you connecting to the 6700????

For now, just the MVP871 and a Project Carbon Debut Turntable that has been upgraded with the acrylic platter, speed box, and Ortofon blue. Speakers are KEF LS50.

It is replacing an MC7150, C41, MR73.

This is truly great down sizing, while stepping up in performance. I bet the sound will be a touch sweeter and maybe not quite as forward. The bass will seemed more defined. I would miss the flexibility of having a record and listen selector. But having the addition of a MC input is a real positive. Spec wise there are trade offs and improvements, too. I hope you will be able to take advantage of the HD tuner sections. Merry Christmas

Congrats! Definitely try out the HD tuner if you have any nearby stations. I wasn't expecting much in that respect and was really surprised at the sound quality of HD radio. The DAC is also a nice feature as well. I got one from AC two years back and have been happy with it since then. I love having both turntables hooked up at once.
As a side note I use the tape out to feed my integrated tube amp when I want that sound and all my sources run off the 6700 so I don't have to move cables to shuffle sources.

So, my thoughts on the MAC6700. It leaves nothing on the table. The soundstage seems a bit less "airy" compared to my previous McIntosh separates.

Otherwise, what one would expect from McIntosh. One disappointment, mine arrived with the TM-3 tuner. No HD. It was explained to me that McIntosh stopped making the TM-2 by Ryan.

Interesting. I did not know that the TM-2 was discontinued. I wonder what they ship in the MR88?

I have a 6600 with the TM-2 and I've honestly never been that impressed with it. I wonder if the TM-3 is much different (aside from deleting the HD capability).

TM3 is a DSP tuner like MR88 but without HD radio. TM3 will process the analog AM and FM signal in the digital domain which will help or in many cases eliminate multipath plus it is very clean sounds. More like a CD than analog FM.
MR88 retains HD radio function.

Thanks,
Ron-C
