I'll take it at face value. It's the family treasure, and that and need and wishing had convinced this person that others should value it very highly as well. He was a little mixed up as to which long-ago decade saw the emergence of stereo, of course, but he's probably been educated on that and other matters by now. And there is no joy in Orlando.

Is it actually worth anything? What would be a more realistic price range for something like that...? Seems interesting but that's a really hard appraisal for me to place.

If it works well, it's worth at least $100.

Otoh, the family does need the money. Feeling generous?

Perpetuum-Ebners are ranked up there with the Elacs, Lencos, Jobos, Thorens, Duals, etc... as fine Teutonic record players/changers [Well, Jobos were Dutch, and Thorens and Lencos were Swiss, but close enough! ] and are still much appreciated by those "in the know". :yes: Seriously, it's a very well-respected name in some circles. Only the best Garrards (301s/401s) ever approached these Central European "giant Swiss watches" for construction quality.

I'd LOVE to get a Perpetuum Ebner like that one, and would gladly pay a hundred bucks for it, if it were local and in good (at least restorable without too much grief) condition.

...but $100,000? I'd like some of whatever that guy's using!
