Kamakiri - The Next Chapter

Things actually took an ironic twist.......

The family that was going to move into the place had a daughter that just graduated medical school, and fifteen minutes after the office approved them for residency, her daughter disclosed that she had bought her parents a brand new home in Louisiana. They were in tears that a daughter could care so much for their parents, and their hard work putting their daughter through med school was rewarded in such a loving way.

But, that leaves me back at square one, with the mobile home. Something good will happen, I have faith :)

In the meantime, I've enjoyed a huge promotion here at work, and life, as it goes, is rolling along very well. Although, I can't say that I get too many free moments of late!

In fact, what I'm trying to do now, is to get some cash out of the place, to help out a friend in my Church.

She and her husband own a family trucking company, they employ the people that were going to get my home. With the price of fuel, and falling on some hard times, they can barely make payroll, and can't afford to pay themselves. As it is, they can't even pay for gas in their own personal vehicles. Her husband, who does all of the truck repairs and maintenance, is in the first stages of leukemia. In fact, I volunteered to go down and help turn a wrench on their trucks if needed be to keep them rolling.

Their trucking company is set up to haul very large items crosscountry, and it's a specialized thing. Their trucks are aging, and they're doing their best to stay afloat.

So, here's hoping that with the property still mine, I can help another out in a different way.........

Congrats on the promotion man !

I am sure you will find a way to put the Mobile to good use.

Hey Tim,

Here's an idea. 4 years from now when I've graduated w/a Masters degree but am up to my nostrils in debt with no job, you can give me the trailer.

Just a thought. :D

Seriously, in this economy a big promo is awesome! You must have really made an impression at work! I'm sure you'll find something worthwhile to do with the mobile home.

Welcome back!

Glad to see the sun smiling on you again.

Now we just need to hear about a new lady in your life.....:thmbsp:

Tim - Glad to have you back. Never met you except on the forum but always looked forward to seeing Jean-Luc Picard among the avatars. Best of luck rebuilding ... metaphorically and literally. Seems you've made a great start.

Tim, welcome back. AudioKarma's spiritual leader is in the house. It's great to hear you are back on your feet.

- Pete

Congrats on the promo!

Free capitalist advice:

The mobile probably has some equity in it. Find a good family and sell it to them cheap. Use whatever you get to pay down your home mortgage. Everyone wins, including you, who deserve it.

I have two showings today, so we'll see what happens.......as far as any cash, I'm not too concerned about it even though I probably should be. I just need to lessen distractions in my life so that I can focus on the work at hand.
I'm really looking forward to fall, because that's the time when I build the dream system that I once had, all over again :)

And, of course, I'll have time to post here more often ;)

We were supposed to meet at AK Fest 07 but that did not happen. One of these days you may find yourself over this way so remember the latch string is out.

It's gonna work out great!

After reading all I can tell everthing is going to work out beautifully for you. You are clearly someone who deserves grand success and therefore, you will recieve it! I appreciate the article on how to deal with difficult people as I also have had to do such. I think I should thank everybody who ever gave me a hard time for making me all the stronger!
When you give you will get and that means you are going to be getting alot! As for myself, I have had trouble handling good fortune in that I have been unable to use my free time in the most productive way that would benefit all others as well as myself. Perhaps I will find good advice from you as I follow your rise to the top! I will keep reading.
It's very nice to learn about someone recieving good fortune who clearly deserves all the best!

Tim you will come out on top, never fear. I recall taking a course in public speaking and one of the parts was dealing with difficult people in the audience. The instructor told us how, as he was checking in his bag at curbside, the redcap was calmly dealing with a total a**hole. When it was his turn he complimented the redcap, told him he taught such and how the redcap had done everything pefectly.

The redcap said "It was nothing sir" pointing at the departing man he said "That gentleman is going to New York", pointing at his bag he said "His bag is going to Detroit".

An enjoyable and heartwarming post-script to my former home.....

It has been given to a needy family of husband, wife, and three children, for the price of the two months lot rent that I spent while not living there. They just sent me an email, which I will now share:

Dear Tim,

I know you spoke with my husband yesterday, I'm thrilled that we got approved! Honestly, I was a bit worried about our credit score, but it wasn't even an issue!

I just wanted to say again and I can't say it enough, how thankful we are that you are doing this for us. It is such a blessing. We are trying so hard to get our financial oblgations in order, paying our debt off/down that it has made it hard to save very much. The opportunity you have givien us will really help to re-establish our independence as a family. Living with my Mom was OK temporarally, but it has been WAY too long.

But now, trying to find an apartment that will let you have pets is VERY difficult. Not to mention the coldness you get when they hear you have kids. $700-$800 a month with NO utilities in not so likeable areas....

Anyhow, I just wanted to thank you. I have been praying for months now for God to show me some other living arrangement. The right living arrangement. I truely believe that when you do things as God wants you too, it works out SO much better and easier than working against him! And when you do things for others, he blesses you. I think you will see nothing but fantastic things happening for you.

God Bless!

Tomorrow at 6 PM, I officially sign over the home, and conclude that chapter in my life....while at the same time, allowing someone else to begin theirs.

Your kindnesses, my friends, have been officially paid forward.

What's the old Anne Murray (blechhh!) song?

Sure could use, a little good news today??

Thanks, Kamakiri, for making my day. I just had my appendix out about 10 hours ago, and reading this made me smile up and down.

You, rightfully so, are what makes AK.

Two thumbs way up. :thmbsp::thmbsp:

I trust that there's a saint hood in this for you Tim (and for other things)!

Scott
