Kenwood KR-9050 Lamps

Replaced the bulbs in the 7050 and 8050. I think the 9050 is identical.
Cool white LED wedge bulbs soldered to existing wires. for the dial face. 7050 pictured.
Indicators are water clear LEDs with a series dropping resistor and diode. To do this, I removed the miniature light, unsoldered the light post and remove the rubber mount with the posts. Then inserted the LED resistor/diode combination. You can also purchase 12v LEDs and just insert them.

I want to replace the "FM LOCK" lamp without removing the units faceplate.
Their is a small circuit board which houses the 8v 50 mA incandescent lamp or LED and it has 4 solder points. Two solder points for the wires which come from the Tuner circuit board, one is near Q15- collector. Two solder points for the lamp. The small circuit board is physically secured to an intermediate faceplate metal bracket with the nylon plastic black plunger type secures. Small flat head screwdriver to remove the outer black plastic plunger closest to the edge. Lockable tweezers to catch this plastic plunger and save it from faillin'. Next, lightly epoxy the interior second black plastic plunger secure ( which is harder to access ) to the metal bracket. Let it dry. Pry the small circuit board from the metal bracket, releasing this second plastic plunger. De-solder the original lamp. Solder in the new incandescent lamp or LED. Push the circuit board back lightly onto the inner positioned epoxy'd plastic plunger. Re-install the outer positioned plastic black plunger type secure.

Then the 9050 is obviously different for those indicators. The 7050 and 8050 have what is pictured for indicators. That board has to be removed with the faceplate off. I choose LEDs and removed the lights, rubber spacers and pins.
